Shasta Anti-Gang Enforcment Unit - S.A.G.E.

As a result of a concept developed by Redding Police Chief Leonard Moty and through a cooperative effort by California, Shasta County, and local city law enforcement agencies, the S.A.G.E. Unit was formed to educate the community about and eliminate gang activity in Redding, Anderson, Shasta Lake City, and Shasta County.

The S.A.G.E. Unit consists of representatives from the Anderson Police Department, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, California Highway Patrol, California State Parole, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Redding Police Department, Shasta County District Attorney’s Office, Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Shasta County Probation Department, and Shasta Inter-Agency Narcotics Task Force.

The focus of the S.A.G.E. Unit is to implement gang enforcement methods using intelligence gathering, visible patrols, pro-active enforcement and arrests, and to identify criminal street gang members.  S.A.G.E. Unit officers will work closely with the schools, school security, and members of the business community to identify gang members and reduce gang crime in and around targeted areas.

To report gang activity, call: The Gang Hotline (530) 247-GANG (4264).

Should you see graffiti in your area, call: The Graffiti Hotline (530) 245-6211.

If you are interested in hosting a gang awarness presentation, call:
The Redding Police Department Investigations Division at (530) 225-4214.

State, County, and City Law enforcement agencies, with your help, will eliminate gangs and the gang mentality in our community.  The partnership, involving members of the community, education and law enforcement, will strive to enhance the quality of life in our communities.
